Drum Sounds of the 1980’s
Hey guys. I came across this YouTube video recently that explains how the classic drum sound that a part of the music was so much of the 1980s was created. I thought I would post this as I found this really fascinating.

Listen to almost any 80s rock song, and this drum sound was almost always present. The sound was originally made famous by Phil Collins, and thereafter, the whole world was doing this throughout the decade. the history behind all this is worth checking out.
Most of us are familiar with the 80s sound. And the gated reverb sounds of the drums. I have often created this sound in the studio on certain tracks that needed this type of feel. But what I didn’t know is how they stumbled on the sound by accident. I hope you find this as interesting as I did.
